If you feel that stirring inside your heart for more, you’re hungry to experience God moving, and you want to share the life-changing love of Jesus, then you absolutely do not want to pass up this trip to New York City.
What will we be doing?
Our ministry partner in New York is intentional with his city and the teams that come to serve. He has a heart to see the people in his community come to know the Lord. Your team will be the light of Jesus in Brooklyn, The City, and Harlem.
While staying in Brooklyn, there will be daily opportunities to build relationships with people in the community. You will pass by the same people sitting on the steps each day, go to the same corner store and develop relationships with the store owner, play basketball with kids at the park across the street and much more.
There is a huge homeless population in NY and your team will have the opportunity to build relationships, pass out hygiene packs and pray for them. God wants to move in NY and wants to use teams like yours to plant seeds.
Ministry may include:
- Serving food and joining activities at a senior day center.
- Working with people battling drug addictions (this will depend on ages within the group).
- Building relationships and serving youth and young adults with Down Syndrome.
- Helping prepare hot meals and organizing food at the food pantry.
- Assisting with small construction projects for people in the community.
- Handing out hygiene bags while sharing the love of Jesus to those experiencing homelessness.
During off days, teams visit Staten Island, Coney Island, and The 9/11 Memorial.
Where will we stay?
Your team will sleep on classroom floors inside a church. There will be separate bathrooms for men and women with two showers and two toilets in each. You will have access to a full kitchen where your team will prepare meals together.
How can I make a difference?
God doesn’t just move on the mission field – He moves right where you are today. But sometimes it takes a journey to discover how to see Him in the every day and how to live life on mission wherever He leads you next.
