After the earthquake, the country became a refuge for thousands of displaced people.
Although known for its vast sugar plantations, the nation’s economy depends on tourism. Political corruption is a lasting issue, along with the expanding gap between wealthy and poor.
The people of the DR love deeply—and are searching for love themselves.
Beauty for Ashes exists to share God’s restoration, hope, and healing with suffering and victimized women through ministry and training. Through Beauty for Ashes Retreats, women support and encourage each other by sharing their own stories and experiencing the healing, redeeming power of Jesus.
Will you share God’s restoration, hope, and healing with the women of the Dominican Republic?
While in the DR, you will partner with a couple who serves their local community by providing daily meals, supplemental education, and God’s Word to at least 100 children.
Your team will:
- Be trained to help host Beauty for Ashes retreats, allowing God to bring hope, healing and redemption to your story.
- Learn from the testimonies of those on your team, as you grow closer to the Lord and minister to one another.
- Facilitate retreat activities with the local Dominican women and be a part of what God is doing to restore their lives and stories.
- Learn to share about topics such as worth, identity, healing and forgiveness with others, through storytelling and vulnerability.
- Build meaningful relationships with your team and those whom you minister to, and leave with a deeper understanding of who God is, and who you are as His daughter.
