Beauty for Ashes Women’s Trip to Uganda
Is God calling you to minister to the hearts of women? In Fall of 2016, join other World Race Alumni women in leading Beauty for Ashes ministry in Kampala, Uganda with Sisters of Hope. Through this ministry, by women and for women, you will share the beauty and power of the Gospel through Beauty for Ashes.
Beauty for Ashes empowers women to experience God’s restoration and hope through storytelling and safe community. Through Beauty for Ashes Retreats, women support and encourage each other through sharing their own stories and experiencing the healing, redeeming power of Jesus.
God is using Beauty for Ashes to ignite a movement of bringing hope to His daughters. He is empowering them to bring lasting change to their homes, communities, and cultures. This is an opportunity for you to join a 3 month team of World Race Alumni, bringing this hope and healing to the women of Uganda.

As one of the poorest countries in Eastern Africa, nearly half of the country’s population lives on less than one dollar a day, and because of the HIV/AIDS epidemic, nearly half the population is also under the age of 14. With the lack of medical and educational support, many women have been left as widows with little or no way of sustainable income.
On this trip you will work with Sisters of Hope (formerly Dorcas Widows Fund) who currently host 80 widows from the slums of Kampala with some of their children. Sisters of Hope provides education, materials, and discipleship in helping the women apply valuable skills and resources to provide for themselves and their children. Their program offerings include basic business training, micro loans through a village bank, skills training, and english classes. Sisters of Hope is eager to have our Beauty for Ashes team come and help add women’s ministry retreats like ours to their program offerings!
Your team will:
