Butte, Montana – Youth

What Is Needed:

Butte, Montana is a beautiful area that needs a refreshed fire and revival of God's Word in the community. Alcohol and meth abuse is very high, as is teen pregnancy, wtih many students as young as 8th graders having children.  Christianity in the area is fast declining and in the churches almost all community outreach has ground to a halt. 

What You Will Do:

Many different outreaches are possible in Butte from door to door evangelism to feeding the homeless to cookouts in the community.  Teams will be coming alongside a local church youth group to do these outreaches, helping to inspire the youth as well as reach the community.

About This Location:

Butte is located in the Silver Bow Creek Valley (or Summit Valley), a natural bowl sitting high in the Rockies straddling the Continental divide.  Butte is an old copper mining area with a population of approximately 35,000.  Uptown Butte's historic district is now the largest National Historic Landmark District in the United States with nearly 6,000 contributing properties, including our ministry partner church. 

Food and Lodging:

Lodging will be at the local pastor's house.  Teams will need to bring sleeping bags and pillows as well as a sleeping mat if desired.  Internet access and a full kitchen are available and food isgood  American camp type food.
