Missions team Will Shower Love on the Cherokee Body of Christ
In the initial stages of planning this mission, our partner pastor made one thing clear. He feels that teams should not, in their zeal to reach new people for Christ, neglect to love on and help those who are already following Jesus. This confirms the future focus of our American Indian missions.
It’s about sharing love, personal service, and encouragement to the pastors and leaders of our local partner church. They routinely deal with frustration, disappointment, and discouragement as they try to reach people with Jesus’ message and develop leaders. You can make a difference in the lives of those who are actively discipling after you are gone. Brainstorm ideas as you prepare for your mission. What would really recharge you, if you were spiritually worn down?
If you’d like opportunities to build meaningful relationships that will make a long-term difference, look no farther than these faithful workers and their families. Come to Cherokee prepared to be transparent, to share lives and your own struggles. We want to bring teams that will work with our partners in outreach and service, and will persevere – no matter how difficult the social interaction or how spiritually tiring that may prove to be.
“By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” John 13:35
