With the exception of a very small group of people, the Ho-chunk nation is closed to the Gospel. In general, they want nothing to do with the “Good News” or the Jesus who died to show us The Way. Our partners, local ministers who love the Ho-chunk people, have suffered discouragement and sadness as they grieve over the enemy’s rule over Ho-Chunk lives.
Your team’s mission will be to come alongside these dedicated ministers and accomplish something so significant that it can’t be ignored or overlooked by the Native people. You will have the honor of cleaning out and restoring a very old, Ho-chunk cemetery adjoining a small church.
This act of kindness will deeply touch the hearts of the tribe, who have a high-respect for those who have gone before them. It may even lead to conversations about the afterlife, and about a God who died for us so that we could live again.
You’ll deliver much-needed first aid and renewed energy to both front-line ministers and the few Ho-chunk who are truly committed to following Jesus. These people rarely leave the active spiritual battlefield, an environment hostile to their beliefs.
We also believe teams should love on, encourage, and help those who are already following Jesus, including our partner pastors and leaders.
This year you can go home assured that your team made a difference in the lives of people actively fighting the good fight of faith.
