The world has been watching as Hurricane Harvey has torn through the bottom portion of America. Over 400,000 lives have been affected by the floods of this Category 4 Hurricane. As the rains have subsided, the flood damage continues to devastate lives as the shock of the aftermath sets in.
But we don’t have to watch anymore…
You can do something.
We have been in the Houston area for the last 6 weeks and we’re making significant strides in helping the people of Houston recover and rebuild in the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey.
We’ve sought out volunteers; we’ve found the elderly, the widows, the veterans, the disabled, and the forgotten. Still, there are thousands of families in Houston that will not get back into their homes unless someone helps them build.
We intend to be the people that show up and live out the gospel as we help those who can’t help themselves.
Come.
Join us in making a difference in the lives of our brothers and sisters affected by the flood. Come be a light to those who have lost hope.
We need your hands — especially if you have basic construction skills.
We need your heart — pouring out the love of Christ.
We will continue to clean up the homes of the forgotten but we’ll also be rebuilding for those who have had their houses cleaned out already.

If you can’t be physically present on the scene, there are other ways to help. Prayerfully consider giving to our Disaster Response Fund, which supports our relief efforts in Texas. Your funds will go towards building supplies, furniture, and appliances for those who have lost everything.

What should I bring to help?
You will receive an updated needs list from your project leader after committing to a trip. However, these are basic items we know are needed. If you are driving, the more tools and water supplies you can bring, the better. Many churches are rallying around the people who can go on their behalf, so this is a great way to get your local church involved!
Relief Workers definitely need to pack a pair of work gloves and a mask in case of polluted air. Anything extra you can bring to use or donate is a plus! (If you are flying, some tools will not be allowed in your carry-ons. Please check with your airline for specific baggage requirements.)
