Ireland’s children need a safe place to hang out.
Ireland is a beautiful country made of warm and friendly people who are looking for their identity in a new era of peace. Irish children and youth have similar lives to Americans. They struggle with suicide, divorced parents, alcohol and drug use, and boredom.
Your team may partner with local churches to help develop kids’ clubs and youth centers that will offer children a safe alternative to hanging out on the streets. You can show the children in Ireland that it’s possible to turn away from dangerous behaviors and demonstrate to them that following Christ can be fun!
You may help coordinate athletic and social activities, organize card games or dodgeball tournaments on a rainy day, or move outside to play soccer and other sports. Whatever you do, you get to show Jesus to the Irish.
Your team may even lead worship, teach, perform dramas, and play games. Just like your church youth group! Through these activities, you’ll develop lasting relationships with Irish kids, and you’ll find you have a lot more in common than you might imagine.
You may even take your new friends on adventures in the beauty of Ireland, with it’s rolling hills, green pastures, and historic castles.
