What Is Needed:

Nashville, also known as Music City USA, is a crossroads of different cultures and lifestyles. With frequent drifters that pass through the area, it is home to many urban ministries and homeless shelters. As you minister in Nashville, your group will see what homelessness is like for men, women, and even children as you partner with these groups.

What You Will Do:                                                 

While there are certainly those within the city
who need Jesus, the focus of A
IM’s ministry in Nashville is working with the homeless and less fortunate. Building relationships by sharing lunch or a cup of cold water has been very effective.

About This Location:

Nashville, the capital of Tennessee, is the second most populous city in the state after Memphis. Of the over 600,000 people living in the Nashville and Davidson county area, approximately 20 percent of them live below the federal poverty line, This translates into an income of less that $21,834 a year for a family of four to survive. The city has a 30% high school drop out rate. It is estimated that Nashville has
a homeless population of over
3,000. People are struggling, and not just to “make it big.”
