Native American STM 2021

Missions in Native American communities will require activities like:

  • Prayer visits to the sick and elderly

  • Sharing testimonies – family visits, with evangelism intent, but not formula-driven. These are opportunities to sit down together in the shade, get to know people, their stories, and their culture. To share your own stories, worldview, and Jesus. Without the tight schedules and hurried connections!

  • Perhaps, breaking up into small sub-teams. Under the Pastor’s direction, spending the whole mission (daytime, every day) with one family, blessing them and their kids in a variety of ways. It can be incredibly encouraging to give parents a day off, or an evening for a dinner and a movie. You might take the family out for a picnic, or a tour of cultural and/or historical sites related to their tribe. You might do some small jobs or help around the house, but nothing that requires much time or labor, unless the family is involved also.

Please understand that American Indian cultures are not all the same, nor do their traditions always track closely to what you may believe about them.

Locations may or may not be open, depending on commitment by other teams and partner needs at the time. Once you apply for a specific date, we will check availability with our partners then get in touch with you to discuss options.
