Join this Passport Team and spend three months ministering in Guatemala: a land of natural beauty, excellent coffee, and tumultuous history.
But the true beauty of Guatemala is its people – and they need to experience the freedom and hope of Jesus Christ. In addition to living in a mixture of tribal religions and cultural tradition, Guatemala is also home to families living in garbage dumps, orphanages with abandoned children, natural disasters like volcanic eruptions and mudslides, and overflowing prisons.
Ministry:
Your team will serve the first month with our partner ministry in Quiche, Guatemala, 160 miles north of Guatemala City. Advance the kingdom of God by creating lasting relationships through evangelism and providing food and shelter relief to those who need it most.
You will have opportunities to teach English through Bible lessons and activities with different groups of kids in the community. You might also share your faith with a group of police officers our host works with. New Generation Church is excited to have you come and join them as they reach their community for Christ.
Working with the current needs of the ministry, afternoons each day may include community clean up, prayer walks where witchcraft and sacrifices take place, praying for families, youth group, teaching music to children, and soccer ministry.
You’ll spend the second two months of your trip in Guatemala City alongside our partner YWAM Guatemala City.
Their vision is to raise up young leaders with Biblical principles who will transform nations. YWAM Guatemala City is committed to evangelism, training and mercy ministries, supporting the local church, and influencing young Christians of this nation in order to train, equip, and send them to the world.
Your team will help extend their vision into the heartbeat of Guatemala City. You’ll help with children’s ministry at a local day care, where we have open doors to share Bible stories and the truth of Jesus with local children. You will also have opportunities to minister to those who have been exploited, help at a rehab center, join in outreach in the community and make visits to villages around the outskirts of the city to share the love of Jesus. You will most likely tap into projects around the base, bringing lift to the local missionaries.
For your adventure day, you will have the option of exploring a lake city, zip lining, or visiting the Mayan ruins as well as an incredible mayan marketplace!
Will you join us and share the love of Christ in Guatemala?
