South Asia
South Asia is, in a word, eclectic – in language, foods, and fashion. The opportunities you’ll find for ministry will be just as varied.
Perhaps you already know about the poverty, the persecution of Christians, and the injustices (like forced prostitution and labor) that plague South Asia. On this trip, you’ll work with established Christian ministries in southeastern South Asia not only to do something about these issues but to share the Gospel as you love and serve.
Nepal
The small mountainous country of Nepal is one of the most breathtaking places on earth. The tropical forests give way to the majestic foothills where you may catch a glance of the Himalayas or even Mt. Everest.
You may find yourself dodging tuk-tuks or wandering around the local marketplace tasting fruit you have never seen before.
Ministry:
In South Asia, you will work with special-needs orphans who have been neglected and abandoned by their community for most of their lives. You will be partnering with Sarah’s Covenant Homes (SCH) who serve approximately 150 children with various health and genetic conditions such as cerebral palsy, heart disease, Apert syndrome, Down’s syndrome, and autism.
There you will help provide total care for the children including spiritual and emotional nurture, therapy, special education, medications, private English school education for those able to mainstream, and preparation for adoption into loving families.
In Nepal, you will be partnering with The Agape Mission International (TAMI) working with at-risk women and children to reach their full potential through education, empowerment, and mentoring grassroots leaders.
