The small mountainous country of Nepal is one of the most breathtaking places on earth. The tropical forests give way to the majestic foothills where you may catch a glance of the Himalayas or even Mt. Everest.
You may find yourself dodging tuk tuks or wandering through the local marketplace, tasting fruit you have never seen before.
Nepal is primarily Hindu and Buddhist, but Christianity is on the rise – especially after the earth shook April 15, 2015. With no where else to turn, homes in shambles, and loved ones injured or gone, the hope of Christ is on the move. Churches are growing, and entire families are turning to him.
Ministry:
While in Nepal, you will partner with a host ministry and ministry opportunities could be:
- Women’s Ministry: Working with at-risk women and children, helping them find restoration and healing. In addition, there might be an opportunity to serve in a beauty salon where rescued women work.
- Sports Ministry: Playing a pick up game with street kids or spending time in schools and children’s homes, using sports, play, and art to show each child that they matter.
- Village Ministry: You and your team might have the opportunity to partner with local churches through evangelism, or even to hike to unreached villages where there are no roads and the nearest church is two hours away by foot. While this is not a disaster relief trip, you will meet and possibly help people who were affected by the earthquake in 2015.
Amidst the tourist and trekking culture, you will have the opportunity to live your faith while enjoying the beauty and adventure of Nepal. This is your opportunity to discover hands-on God’s heart for this corner of the world.
