You watched your child serve God throughout the world and come back changed; their transformation has inspired you.
But the truth is, it wasn’t just their journey. It was yours too.
From fundraising, purchasing supplies, packing, emotional and spiritual preparation, driving to the airport, and/or coming to Launch, you were there every step of the way. Once they were on the field, you supported from home—investing, encouraging, and growing with them.
Watching them come fully alive while serving God on the mission field, gave you much deserved parental pride! It inspired you to live differently, to invest in ministry differently. . . and possibly, to dream of serving overseas in a similar way.
It’s time to continue your journey.
Even before the 2010 earthquake, Haiti was the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere.
Now, the rubble of crushed homes still lies everywhere. Unable to rebuild their homes, many Haitians live in tent cities that sprawl across the country, even in the medians of roads.
The Haitian economy lies in ruins as well. Eighty percent of the population falls under the poverty line, and many rely on foreign aid for food because they do not have enough money. People live in fear of diseases that are unimaginable to most Americans.
Corruption, crime, and the black market prevent Haiti’s people from working to rebuild the country on their own. False gods and dark religions lure people deeper into darkness.
Haiti needs help. Haiti needs hope.
Ministry:
You will partner with an orphanage near Carrefour and ministry will be orphan care.
This is an opportunity to pour into children who need families to love them. Maybe they were orphaned in the earthquake, or maybe it was because of life. Either way, they need to know they are loved, they are special, and that they are not forgotten or abandoned by society or by God. Most of your time will be spent with the children of this orphanage. From organized VBS programs to kicking a soccer ball, every child you see will be an opportunity to change a life and empower a country’s next generation.
By serving in this beautiful yet devastated nation you will journey deeper into understanding God’s unfailing love as you show the children of Haiti they are not forgotten.
