STM 2017 Belize

An adventure awaits you in Belize!

Known for its ancient Mayan ruins, the largest cave system in Central America, and one of the largest barrier reefs in all of the world—including the Great Blue Hole, Belize is an adventurer’s paradise.

But beyond the resorts and tourist attractions, the people of Belize are searching for hope. The nation has the lowest literacy rate in the Western Hemisphere.

Almost half of the population are Roman Catholic, while 32% claim Protestant Christianity. Yet only about 10% regularly attend church.

Will you share the hope of abundant life in Christ in Belize?

Ministry:

While in Belize, you will partner with a host ministry deeply involved in its community which primarily speaks Spanish (even though Belize is the only country in Central America whose first language is English).

Make sure to let us know if you have a skill you’d like to use on this trip. Our host loves to use team members’ unique abilities and talents to share the Gospel. This could include:

  • Kids Ministry: Whether children’s ministry programs, volunteering with a preschool, or playing sports, you can share the hope and love of Christ through kids’ favorite language: fun.
  • Feeding the Hungry: It’s likely you will get to help with a local feeding program.
  • Work Projects: Whether it’s light construction, a restoration project in a hurricane-damaged community, or helping a homebound senior with needed home repairs, your skills will bless someone who needs it.
  • Community Outreach: As you serve in this beautiful country, take a taxi, or even explore ancient Mayan ruins on your off day, you’ll have opportunities to share your faith with every local and tourist you meet, living missionally through adventure.

Is God calling you to use the talents and skills He’s given you to serve Him in Belize?
