STM 2017 Atlanta (Family)

An adventure awaits you in Atlanta!

What do Coca-Cola, Six Flags, and heartbreak all have in common? Atlanta.

Atlanta’s explosive growth has brought a tourist economy and exciting attractions to northern Georgia, including the world’s biggest aquarium. But that same growth also presents challenges for this city.

Homelessness, drug use, and crime take young people away from the futures they could have. Large refugee populations struggle to fit in in a city known for its Southern hospitality. Those who feel forgotten desperately need the hope of Jesus and a second chance.

All you need is a heart of compassion and a willingness to start a conversation with someone you’ve just met. By coming alongside established ministries, you can help deepen the work they’re doing in Atlanta.

Ministry

As a family, your focus will be helping families find healing and hope in a city of brokenness. This will look like:

  • Service Projects: You will partner with a children’s home that serves foster kids in the Atlanta and greater-Atlanta area, doing service projects in the morning and group activities in the afternoons. The work projects will further the long term development and maintenance of the property.
  • Community Outreach: Whether it’s VBS, ministry to single mothers in the community, or just hanging out at a local park, everywhere you go will be an opportunity to share the love of Jesus with everyone around you.

No matter what your ministry looks like in Atlanta, you will water seeds of service already planted in this diverse yet broken city. You will be both challenged and encouraged as you join the work God is doing here, and your family will be strengthened by the opportunity to serve Him together.

Atlanta needs help remembering how to love. Will you share Jesus with those searching for Him?
