STM 2017 Nicaragua (Youth)

An adventure awaits you in Nicaragua!

Nicaragua has been called the land of lakes and volcanoes. Thick rainforests, rugged highlands, beautiful beaches, and fertile hills define the country’s beautiful landscape. Its rich history dates back to the Spanish conquistadores

As the poorest nation in Central America, almost 80% of Nicaraguans live on less than $2 a day. More than half the population lives beneath the poverty line. One in four Nicaraguans is starving or suffering from malnutrition.

The people of Nicaragua need the encouragement of knowing they are seen and loved by God.

Ministry:

While in Nicaragua, you will partner with an all-boys Bible school focusing on educating and discipling boys ages 9-15 in a rural community, as well as reaching out to their families. This ministry believes that before they can teach women empowerment, they believe that they must teach men how to be godly men first.:

  • Kids Ministry: Your team will partner with the school and with trade classes (like leather works and sewing).
  • Sports Ministry: You’ll play soccer and communicate the love of Jesus through a child’s favorite language: fun.
  • Community Outreach/Intercession: Your team could prayer walk throughout the community, work with Mercy ministries with donation distribution, and go on home visits, sharing God’s love with families living nearby.

Will you remind the people of Nicaragua that they are seen and extravagantly loved by God?
