Life with Jesus is about the journey.
As women, we move quickly through life. In the midst of serving and doing good in the world, we often forget to take time to refuel. This trip will take you off the beaten track and walking through Istria Croatia’s untouched interior and coastline. This is journey about slowing down, intentionally engaging in conversation and taking each moment with reflection and purpose.
Experience discipleship using the ancient tradition of pilgrimage, building relationships along the way. Get outside of your limits and walk a path where thousands have walked before. Gather with women and talk about what real community and life looks like. What does it mean to be a woman in today’s society and actively seek the Lord?
During this 7-day trek, you will learn to find your strength in God and to focus on true discipleship in community.
Your team will journey the trails through magnificent rolling landscapes along sparkling turquoise coastlines and revel in the relaxed way of life. Enjoy stays in medieval hilltop villages, such as Buje, with its Venetian palaces, 15th century tower, Baroque church and ancient city walls.
Pula is the regional airport and flights are available via Zagreb. Trieste Airport is the closest airport serviced by direct flights from the UK with Ryan Air and Alitalia also offering services. A transfer from Pula Airport to Buje on Day 1 is included in the cost of the trip.Each night we will be staying in a local Bed and Breakfast, in the morning we will gather, pray, pack our lunch, while luggage will be transferred onward to our next location. Upon arrival in each new village there will be time to explore, rest, debrief our day and find the perfect dinner spot.
The itinerary is as follows:
- Day 1: Arrive in Buje and overnight.
- Day 2: Transfer to Brtonigla, walk to Buje, 13 or 11 km.
- Day 3: Walk to Motovun via Grožnjan, 16 or 25 km.
- Day 4: Walk Oprtalj to Buzet, 12 or 21 km.
- Day 5: Loop walk via Hum, 12 or 24 km.
- Day 6: Poklon to Lovran via Ucka, 11 or 6 km.
- Day 7: Free day in Lovran.
- Day 8. End of trip
All along the trail, you’ll experience unique, spontaneous ministry opportunities as you grow close to other hikers and speak into their lives. Seek and find where God is growing you when you find you have nothing more to depend on but Him, and grow with like-minded travelers searching together for a deeper faith.
*Note: Due to the nature of this journey and each woman finishing their day in different intervals, dinner is not included in the trip cost and will need to be paid for separately.
