You want to live a life that matters. You want to feel significant, empowered, and for your life to count for something. You read about the way the followers of Jesus lived in the first century, and you long for that kind of life — where living out your faith means hearing the voice of God and changing people’s lives.
You want to go to the next level with God. You want a changed life.
Adventures in Missions has taken more than 115,000 people on mission trips around the world. Through various short and long-term programs, Adventures In Missions helps people from all walks of life discover the world, who Jesus is, and what Jesus has called them to: making disciples of all nations (Matthew 28) and being his witnesses to the ends of the earth (Acts 1).
Imagine experiencing firsthand how to listen to the voice of God, serve others in high-need ministry contexts, and make a real, tangible difference in the lives of others.
If you want to join a Christ-centered community committed to doing what the first generation of disciples did, then it’s time for you to join us in…
The fifth largest country in both population and geography, Brazil is a rising superpower in the world’s economy. From the Amazon jungle to the shores of Rio, this geographically diverse nation is also home to a significant evangelical population and many missionaries. However, while across the nation large-scale events celebrate Christ, crime, homelessness, and poverty are serious issues in Brazil. Those feeling forgotten and trapped in poverty need to know God sees and cherishes them.
Jesus is on the move in Brazil. Will you be His hands and feet in this beautiful country?
You will partner with a ministry in Sao Paulo that is committed to sharing the life-transforming Gospel with children and families stuck in a cycle of poverty and violence.
Please have a skit prepared and an English song to teach the kids. You may also get a chance lead a devotional for women, share your testimony, or if you’re a pastor, you may get a chance to preach!
You’ll stay in a dorm-style base with hot showers and toilets (please don’t flush the paper, though!). And, great news… You’ll have electricity and wifi! The water won’t be good to drink, so make sure you always have bottles of water. July will be slightly cooler, so be prepared for cold nights and bring warmer clothes!
God is calling you to journey with Him, to share His love with the nations and establish His Kingdom on earth. Will you join Him in Brazil?
Catholics in Brazil number more than in any other country, but the Church itself remains in crisis. The defection rate has slowed, but it continues to lose members to evangelicals, to Spiritists, and to non-religion. By 2025, Catholicism could be a minority religion, having held 95% of the population in 1950. Around 70% of ex-Catholics are now evangelicals. Even within Catholicism, only a small minority remain traditionally Catholic and faithful in practice; many others are influenced by Spiritism, nominalism or the charismatic renewal. The grassroots “Base Community” movement, the engine room of liberation theology, has lost much of its drive, but nearly one million “Bible circles” persist, hosting studies of Scripture. Pray that the Bible and its truths may mold the lives of Catholics.
