STM 2018 Philadelphia (Salvation Army)

You want your youth group to feel like they matter. You want them to feel significant, empowered, and for their lives to count for something. You read about the way the followers of Jesus lived in the first century, and you long for that kind of life — where living out your faith means hearing the voice of God and changing people’s lives.

You want to take your youth to the next level with God. You want changed lives.

Adventures in Missions has taken more than 115,000 people on mission trips around the world. Through various short and long-term programs, Adventures In Missions helps people from all walks of life discover the world, who Jesus is, and what Jesus has called them to: making disciples of all nations (Matthew 28) and being his witnesses to the ends of the earth (Acts 1).

Imagine experiencing firsthand how to listen to the voice of God, serve others in high-need ministry contexts, and make a real, tangible difference in the lives of others.

If you want to join a Christ-centered community committed to doing what the first generation of disciples did, then it’s time for you to join us in…

Help the City of Brotherly Love live up to its name. Where history and modern architecture meet, Philadelphia’s reputation for art and culture is unmatched. The city offers more outdoor sculptures and murals than any other American city, and life is returning to some disadvantaged neighborhoods. But many areas of Philadelphia continue to struggle. Close to half the city’s population lives below poverty level. The local church, stretched far too thin, remains the last hope for the homeless and urban poor.

Ministry

You will partner with the Salvation Army in:

  • Kids Ministry: From playing with kids to running a VBS program, you’ll be able to share God’s love in a child’s favorite language: fun.
  • Relational Ministry: Visiting local parks, meeting families, playing with children, and sharing Christ wherever you are.
  • Urban Plunge: Spend a day enjoying the tourist sites of Philadelphia – see the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall, eat a Philly cheesesteak, walk through the oldest operating church in America, or run up the steps to the Philadelphia Museum of Art like Rocky – all while looking for opportunities to share Jesus with those around you.

God is calling you to journey with Him, to share His love with the nations and establish His Kingdom on earth. Will you join Him in Philadelphia?
