STM 2018 Romania

You want to live a life that matters. You want to feel significant, empowered, and for your life to count for something. You read about the way the followers of Jesus lived in the first century, and you long for that kind of life — where living out your faith means hearing the voice of God and changing people’s lives.

You want to go to the next level with God. You want a changed life.

Adventures in Missions has taken more than 115,000 people on mission trips around the world. Through various short and long-term programs, Adventures In Missions helps people from all walks of life discover the world, who Jesus is, and what Jesus has called them to: making disciples of all nations (Matthew 28) and being his witnesses to the ends of the earth (Acts 1).

Imagine experiencing firsthand how to listen to the voice of God, serve others in high-need ministry contexts, and make a real, tangible difference in the lives of others.

If you want to join a Christ-centered community committed to doing what the first generation of disciples did, then it’s time for you to join us in…

The lore of Dracula brings thousands to explore the history and beauty of Romania, from its castles to the idyllic countryside dotted with horse-drawn buggies and endless herds of sheep. Rural Romania reminds us of a bygone era. But it is quickly rising out of the impoverished state left over from the Soviet era. The economic and political reform provides a foundation for growth and prosperity for a new generation. Still, economic growth is an impossible dream for many orphans and widows, who struggle for food and hope for the future.

Will you share the good news of being remembered and loved by God with those who feel forgotten and alone?

Ministry:

While in Romania, you will serve with a strategic ministry partner and long-term missionary who focuses on empowering orphans and widows with finding trade skills and discovering their identities in Christ. Your team’s ministry will be customized to your unique skills, gifts, and heart for ministry. This could look like:

  • Kids Ministry: From VBS to after-school programs and everywhere in between, you can share the love of Jesus through kids’ favorite language: fun.
  • Women’s Ministry: You’ll have the opportunity to share testimonies, sing, and pour into women in a local women’s Bible study.
  • Church Ministry: Encourage a local church through a sermon, worship, or sharing testimonies.
  • Community Outreach: Through house visits and even giving food to low-income families, you can give hope to those who need to hear it in the most important place in their lives: the home.
  • Bible Distribution: You might even get to pass out copies of God’s Word or tracts to those who have never read it.
  • Teaching English: You’ll make relationships with your students and teach them a valuable skill (a second language) at the same time!

Lodging

You’ll be staying in a guesthouse (dorm style) that has bunk beds, hot showers, running water, and wifi. It can get quite warm in Romania in June, so make sure you’re prepared for the warmer weather!

God is calling you to journey with Him, to share His love with the nations and establish His Kingdom on earth. Will you join Him in Romania?

Pray for Romania

A legacy of brokenness endures from the days of Ceausescu’s regime, a moral vacuum being filled with every kind of social evil. Substance abuse, prostitution, pornography, human trafficking and challenges to child welfare are widespread. Romania has one of the highest abortion rates in the world, with three or more abortions for every child born. Poverty is still common, with widespread unemployment and economic instability, caused to a large degree by rampant and entrenched corruption. Divisions in government reduce its effectiveness; major strides forward are needed in its legal, education and health care systems as well as police and local administrations. Pray for leadership that has the wisdom to chart the right path and the integrity to implement the right policies.
