STM 2018 South Asia (Asha House)

An adventure awaits you in South Asia!

With nearly a sixth of the world’s population, South Asia is home to 29 languages, some of the spiciest food on the planet, and a highly segregated rich and poor class.

Thanks to the ancient caste system, crimes of social injustice, discrimination, forced prostitution, and human trafficking occur daily.

Baby girls are often killed and abandoned, simply because of the financial burden on their families. Lepers are treated as untouchables, and the poorest of the poor live in slums.

Will you share hope with the poor, abandoned, and outcast in South Asia?

Ministry:

While in South Asia, ministry opportunities include:

  • Leper Colony: Your team might visit a local leper colony, sharing the hope and love of Jesus with those considered untouchable by their society. While girls paint nails or help prepare a meal, guys can join in on game with the men of the colony. Or you might play badminton with the youth. Whatever you do, expect a lot of laughter!
  • Intercession: You can intercede for the nation and people of South Asia while walking its streets, whether in markets, on a train, a taxi, or even while touring one of the seven wonders of the ancient world: the Taj Mahal.
  • Church Ministry: There might be an opportunity to meet with an encourage a pastor and family of a persecuted church (and maybe some of the church members themselves) in the slums.
  • Kids Ministry: You might spend time with children, whether street kids or from a Christian children’s home, playing, dancing, and most of all, laughing together! Whatever it this looks like, you can make every moment matter for Christ.

Only Jesus can bridge the gap between rich and poor and provide the hope. Will you share His love in South Asia?
