Adventures in Missions has taken more than 115,000 people on mission trips around the world. Through various short and long-term programs, Adventures helps people from all walks of life discover the world, who Jesus is, and what He has called them to: making disciples of all nations (Matthew 28) and being His witnesses to the ends of the earth (Acts 1).
You want to do something that matters. You want to feel empowered and to make an impact on the world around you. You read about the way the followers of Jesus lived in the first century, and something in you is longing to do more – to live out your faith, hear the voice of God, and display His love to those who need it.
You want to go deeper in your relationship with God. You want to see lives changed.
Imagine experiencing firsthand how to listen to the voice of God, serve others in high-need ministry contexts, and make a real difference in the lives of others.
If you want to join a Christ-centered community committed to doing what the first generation of disciples did, then it’s time for you to join us in…
Swaziland is like no place on earth. Visitors are stunned by the lush, mountainous beauty of a country. While tragic truth hides behind the stark beauty of the African hills, you can help share hope in this land. No country on earth has been more devastated by HIV/AIDS. With the highest rate of infection in the world, the disease has affected almost every family in Swaziland. 10% of Swazi children have been orphaned because of infected parents. Words like “rape” and “abuse” can be found in schoolchildren’s workbooks. Mothers are widowed, left with no means to support their hungry families. These statistics continue to increase at an alarming rate. Women and children are often left malnourished, uneducated, and without hope.
Ministry
Adventures in Missions has been based in Swaziland for over 10 years. You will work alongside Adventure’s long-term base focusing highly on orphan care. Ministry hubs called Carepoints focus on local infrastructure, discipleship, church growth, and sustainability projects.
Children’s Ministry: You will spend most of your time at the Carepoints, playing with, teaching, and helping care for the children who come for a daily meal and a safe place to be kids.
Community Outreach: You will visit homes and hospitals in the community to meet people, hear their stories, and pray for them.
Agricultural Ministry: As the Carepoints work to develop sustainability in their communities, a major project is a garden. Your team will have the opportunity to help tend this garden alongside the people of Swaziland.
Lodging
You and your team will stay at the Adventures Swaziland Base where you will have access bathrooms and showers.
God is calling you to journey with Him, to share His love with the nations and establish His Kingdom on earth. Will you join Him in Swaziland?
The impact of HIV/AIDS cannot be overstated – it has devastated the population. Life expectancy plummeted to age 32 in 2008 (according to some reports), and 26% of adults (up to 40% in other reports) are HIV-positive. Sixty-one percent of all deaths could be attributed to HIV/AIDS. The pandemic has denuded society of a young adult workforce, and many households are orphaned and led by the oldest sibling.
