TEMPLATE: Short Term Missions

An adventure awaits you in Nicaragua!

Fresia shared the gospel hundreds of times before she believed it, herself. Through translating everything from testimonies to the gospel via salvation bead bracelets, this woman spoke the truth of Jesus over herself all week long! It was amazing to watch how the personal testimonies of our youth group kids spoke to her as she told the stories herself.  She asked questions and was really intrigued by everything we did each day.

All 32 people on our team had a chance to talk with her about Jesus in one form or another, and Christ was working in her every minute of it! She was amazed as she watched the friendships of our team living in joy and purity as brothers and sisters in Christ. She was in awe as the Holy Spirit moved as we prayed over people, how miracles were happening before her eyes. She said she’s never seen God show up like He had been doing all week.

The last night of our trip, Fresia woke up and said her chest was really heavy. She said it wasn’t scary, just weird. She knew it must be God, since she hadn’t actually made a decision to follow Jesus yet and that must be what it meant for Him to be knocking on the door of her heart. So, she prayed and told Him that if this was Him asking, she wanted to say yes!

In the presence of our entire team at final debrief, Fresia officially accepted Christ, and wanted all of us to “lay hands on her and pray so God could show up on her like He did for the other people all week!”

Your team will partner with local ministries to bring hope to the disheartened. You’ll connect one-on-one with people in desperate need. You could provide for undernourished families through community development programs and outreaches.

All participants will venture out of their comfort zones, guided by a project leader who will encourage you to be bold in your faith. Every participant will receive an Adventures in Missions Journal, including daily devotionals to help each person dive deeper into their relationship with Jesus. You can expect to practice listening to the voice of the Lord and actively being the hands and feet of Jesus to the people of Nicaragua.

Depending on the number of people and groups who are interested, and the availability of our ministry partners, we will find the best ministry fit within Nicaragua to host your team. We’re excited for all God has in store for our summer 2015 trips in Nicaragua!

Stay tuned for updated trip details in the fall. But don’t wait! There’s no commitment to start a profile. If God is stirring your heart, start a profile now and we’ll answer questions and walk you through the steps you need to launch you into your mission adventure.
