An adventure awaits you in Washington, DC!
Millions visit our nation’s capital every year to learn about this country’s history. But just beyond the monuments, a city lies crumbling.
Every day we see images of Washington, DC on TV. Leaders cast the vision for America’s future. Historians study and preserve her past. Landmarks and modern museums dot tourist maps, offering millions of citizens and foreign visitors alike a glimpse into what makes America unique.
If these sightseers looked just beyond the monuments, though, they would discover a desperate city plagued by poverty, substance abuse, and crime.
You can bring peace and promise to the people of DC.
Your team could serve in the heart of our capital where you’ll put Jesus’ love into action. Meet the homeless and the addicted. Listen to their stories. You can show them that grace and compassion are more than just words.
Bring hope and joy to children in impoverished neighborhoods. Your team could help one of DC’s many non-profits further the work it’s doing by helping at a school. Read stories to the kids, play with them on the playground, and assist the teachers in their classrooms.
You may also get to serve at a children’s day camp in one of the poorest neighborhoods and help with restoration projects in Lincoln Heights.
In your free time you could take a cultural plunge in downtown DC, visiting The Smithsonian, a host of national monuments, and the three houses of government, all within a few blocks!
Washington DC is in crisis. Will you help change the future for our nation’s capital?
