Known for soccer, safaris, and shark diving, South Africa is the southernmost country in Africa. It’s a land of adventure.
It’s also land of deep pain.
With one of the highest HIV/AIDs rates in the world, many of its children have lost at least one parent.
You can share God’s love in South Africa all while having the adventure of a lifetime!
Ministry:
The children of South Africa are your primary mission field. Ministry opportunities could include:
- Orphan Ministry: Your team will partner with a ministry that takes in abandoned or at-risk kids and raises them in a compound designed to focus on Christian community. There are multiple houses, each with a housemother and a few kids. School will be out of session during this time, which will allow your team to do a 2-3 day VBS program and kids outings.
- Sports Ministry: You could take part in the “Sports Academy” during their holiday break, playing soccer, basketball, or even baseball with the kids.
- Work Projects: There will also be an opportunity for small work projects, like building fences or constructing a footpath.
- Relational ministry: Through teaching English, guitar, agriculture, dance, or math, you’ll get to know your students and teach them valuable life skills.
- Youth Ministry: You’ll also be involved with a local church with a growing young adult ministry, encouraging and worshipping with them.
Teach, play with, and dream with them; let them know they are not abandoned or alone. Make disciples of Christ. Live by the word and lead by example – it will make all the difference in their lives – and in the future of the nation.
