Though the smallest country in Central America, El Salvador is one of its most beautiful countries.
With its ancient Mayan ruins, pristine beaches, and many national parks, this nation is quickly becoming a favorite tourist destination.
Not everything is perfect in paradise, however. At least 20% of El Salvadorans live in other countries. The remaining are at risk for gang influence and violence due to poverty, family disintegration, and lack of education.
The people of El Salvador are hungry for hope.
What you will do in El Salvador:
- Ministry: You’ll play sports with kids and youth, and maybe even teach PE in local schools. You’ll give food to the hungry and low-income families, and go on home visits in your local community. You could teach English and also be part of local church.
- Adventure: You’ll share God’s love as you explore the beautiful country of El Salvador, whether that’s spending a day at the beach or a national park, zip-lining, or climbing Mayan ruins.
- Culture: You’ll experience the warm and welcoming culture of El Salvador, complete with its delicious food and laid-back atmosphere.
This trip is for you if:
- You love playing sports—soccer, basketball, baseball…you could play all day!
- You’ve always wanted to zip line through a rain forest screaming like Tarzan.
- You speak Spanish (or you want to learn to speak Spanish!).
