AMB 2019 – El Salvador

You want to live a life that matters. You want to feel significant, empowered, and for your life to count for something. You read about the way the followers of Jesus lived in the first century, and you long for that kind of life — where living out your faith means hearing the voice of God and changing people’s lives.

You want to go the next level with God. You want a changed life.

Adventures in Missions has taken more than 115,000 people on mission trips around the world. Through various short and long-term programs, we have dedicated our lives to helping people from all walks of life discover the world, who Jesus is, and what Jesus has called them to: to make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28) and be his witness to the ends of the earth (Acts 1).

Imagine experiencing firsthand how to listen to the voice of God, serve others in high-need ministry contexts, and make a real, tangible difference in the lives of others.

If you want to join a Christ-centered community committed to doing what the first generation of disciples did: Sharing the Gospel, feeding the hungry, healing the sick, and hearing the voice of God… then it’s time for you to join us in…

El Salvador is a country located in Central America with a population estimated at about 6,328,196 inhabitants in 2014.

It has a warm, tropical climate, beautiful flora and fauna, archeological centers, volcanoes, and gorgeous beaches. Its boundary to the east and north is Honduras, to the south is the Pacific Ocean, and to the west is Guatemala.

El Salvador has suffered a brutal legacy left by a civil war the ended in the 90’s, which left poverty, violence, gangs, human trafficking, familial disintegration, and massive emigrations in its wake.

In spite of the fact that a peace treaty exists, peace still has not been felt for many years. Our longing is to see El Salvador restored and Jesus being made known as the only way to salvation as well as a response to the physical, moral, spiritual, and emotional needs of every Salvadorian.

Ministry

  • Work with nearly 60 children, ages 3 to 18, to do a bible school with them. Our objective is to disciple them.
  • Participate in an afternoon discipleship program for the adults in a squatter’s community located right outside of San Salvador. Every week about 40 – 50 adults come to worship, learn about God, and how to live their life for Him.
  • Visit national hospitals to bring hope and comfort to heart that are broken by disgrace and pain.

Lodging

You’ll be staying in a YWAM base with clean water, western toilets and showers, beds, and limited access to wifi.

God is calling you to journey with Him, to share His love with the nations and establish His Kingdom on earth. Will you join Him in El Salvador?

The large numbers of youth involved with the powerful maras. These gangs have attracted up to 70% of young men, partially orphaned by absent fathers. The Church finds that reaching the 15-30 age bracket is particularly difficult with its current methods. New methods must be adopted or an unchurched generation will quickly emerge in El Salvador.
