AMB 2019 – Ethiopia

Adventures in Missions has taken more than 115,000 people on mission trips around the world. Through various short and long-term programs, Adventures helps people from all walks of life discover the world, who Jesus is, and what He has called them to: making disciples of all nations (Matthew 28) and being His witnesses to the ends of the earth (Acts 1).

You want to do something that matters. You want to feel empowered and to make an impact on the world around you. You read about the way the followers of Jesus lived in the first century, and something in you is longing to do more – to live out your faith, hear the voice of God, and display His love to those who need it.

You want to go deeper in your relationship with God. You want to see lives changed.

Imagine experiencing firsthand how to listen to the voice of God, serve others in high-need ministry contexts, and make a real difference in the lives of others.

If you want to join a Christ-centered community committed to doing what the first generation of disciples did, then it’s time for you to join us in…

One of the oldest cultures on earth, Ethiopia is the birthplace of coffee. Literature and archaeological finds date back to Bible times—including the servant from Ethiopia mentioned in the book of Acts. The Ethiopian Orthodox Church even claims to be the modern-day home of the Ark of the Covenant. But despite its rich beauty, culture, and history, Ethiopia is a land of deep heartbreak.

Ministry

You will stay in a town where many children have lost at least one parent (and many have lost both) due to HIV and tuberculosis, and remind these children that they are known and loved by God.

  • You’ll spend a lot of time with kids in a children’s village, playing and laughing with children. You’ll play sports and could teach English or VBS, as you get to know them and their stories. There also will be opportunities for things like painting, gardening, and other community development projects.
  • You’ll share God’s love as you explore the wonders of Ethiopia! You could spend a day at Green Crater Lake, explore Addis Ababa (a city dating back to ancient times), or visit local markets.
  • You will meet not only natives of the culture in which you are ministering, but also other international teams, missionaries, and students who are as far from home as yourself.
  • Share your faith with people your age in peer-to-peer relational ministry while doing things like planting trees, painting, or other light hands-on projects.

God is calling you to journey with Him, to share His love with the nations and establish His Kingdom on earth. Will you join Him in Ethiopia?

Pray for Ethiopia

The growing and maturing Church needs co-laborers and partners in areas such as training, Bible translation, reaching the last remaining un-evangelized groups and especially in holistic ministry – health, agriculture, education and community development.
