About Asheville
Surrounded by the Blueridge mountains, Asheville is an eclectic city, bustling with unique culture, creativity and natural beauty. Famous for the Biltmore estate and River Arts District, Asheville is a city rooted in community with its arms wide open to visitors.
Amongst all of this beauty, Asheville has a large population of people experiencing homelessness and annually makes the list of the top 10 cities with the worst food insecurity. Will you come, join the community, and share the love of Jesus with this tight-knit neighborhood?
Ministry
Your team will have the opportunity to partner with some amazing missionally minded folks that are transforming their city from the inside out. With a heavy emphasis on relationships, you’ll have the opportunity to serve people in a variety of ways. Each opportunity ties back to our partner’s strategy for reaching their community for Christ.
Here are some things you might be doing in Asheville:
Light Construction: Our partners are actively expanding their infrastructure in the Black Mountain neighborhood. There are plenty of small and large work projects!
City Cleanup: Join the church in serving Black Mountain through city cleanup
Community Outreach: Asheville is a unique place, with lots of people hanging out on the square and along the streets. It makes for a great opportunity to connect with the community!
Elderly Care: Oftentimes the elderly will go days without someone coming to visit them. Join us in caring for those who are being neglected by visitations, home projects, and more.
Community Cookout: Cookouts make for a fantastic opportunity to connect with people in the community, and our partners are excited to have you help them engage the people around them!
Lodging
Participants will be housed at a local church where they will have access to bathrooms, showers, and a full kitchen.
Hotels are also an option at an increased price. If your team would like to stay in a hotel, we encourage you to book your trip as quickly as possible to capture the best price. We will make these reservations for you through our partnership with various hotel groups.
Travel
Most teams drive in with a van or bus. Parking is available on-site. If you prefer to fly in, Atlanta is a 3 hour and 45 minute drive and will likely have the cheapest tickets. You could rent vans, or, our headquarters are north of Atlanta and we might be able to pick you up with one of our vans if available. Adventures vans are reserved on a first come first serve basis and a minimal additional fee to cover maintenance.
