Atlanta 2014

An adventure awaits you in Atlanta!

What do Coca-Cola, Six Flags, and heartbreak all have in common? Atlanta.

Atlanta’s explosive growth has brought a tourist economy and exciting attractions to northern Georgia, including the world’s biggest aquarium. But that same growth also presents challenges for this city.

Homelessness, drug use, and crime take young people away from the futures they could have. Large refugee populations struggle to fit in in a city known for its Southern hospitality. The forgotten people here desperately need the hope of Jesus and a second chance.

All you need to help is a heart of compassion and a willingness to strike up a conversation with someone you’ve just met. By coming alongside established ministries, you can help deepen the work they’re doing in Atlanta.

You might work with the homeless to provide a meal, shelter, or just a friendly ear. You may lead a VBS or sports ministry and show local children an example of God’s love. You could build relationships with refugees and help them feel welcome in the United States and the kingdom of God.

No matter what your ministry looks like in Atlanta, you will water seeds of service already planted in this diverse yet broken city. And your own heart will break and grow strong as you join the work God is doing here.

Atlanta needs help remembering how to love. Will you come and be Jesus to the outcasts who need him most?
