Hawaii – Youth

What Is Needed:  In contrast to Hawaii's paradise-like sunsets, mountains, beaches, waterfalls, rainbows, and tropical flowers are ugly statistics revealing the deep social and spiritual needs in this society. A significant drop in tourism, the state's main industry, has hurt many local families.  Many long-time Hawaii residents can no longer afford to buy homes here.   Because there are a lot of poorer areas there are an influx of felt needs including poor medical, hopelessness, domestic abuse and addictions.  Because the weather is so temperate, the homeless...

Zuni, NM – Adult

Be first to grab this opportunity to do cross-cultural ministry in the U.S. It’s rare to find a mission supported by a host who is so knowledgeable in Native customs and culture. He brings to us a truly active Zuni youth group of about 20, with a core of eight teens fully committed to Jesus. We have much to learn from them. Your team is going to spend most of their time with the Zuni youth group, not all of whom follow Jesus. But they’re a great bunch of kids who are looking forward to showing you their pueblo and the summer scene in Gallup. You’ll also spend a lot of time...

Like most adult tribe members, these people are closed to the Gospel as their memories of persecution from the US government and sometimes preachers, are passed down with each generation. Giving up their traditions is equated to being a traitor. If Native Americans choose to follow Christ,...

What the Rio Grande Valley needs is what you can offer, the hands and feet of Jesus as your team focuses their attention on others with great physical and spiritual needs. Through partnering with what the local ministries are already doing, you will be able to bring light...
