Join a Beauty for Ashes trip to Cuba! (Women Only)
Less than 90 miles from the United States lies the largest island in the Caribbean, Cuba. It has the second largest population in the region, and before the US Embargo of 1960, was one of the most advanced and prosperous nations in Latin America.
Adventures began officially sending teams to Cuba in 2012, before the Embargo lifted. What we found was a nation hungry for Christ and a growing church inviting us to partner with them.
Officially, Cuba is a secular nation. There is no national religion, although about 59% of the population would consider themselves Catholic. There is no organized faith. While it isn’t illegal to be a Christian in Cuba, until recently they couldn’t openly share their faith. Churches could not build church buildings, but they were free to meet in their homes.
The Cuban church is its people.
Beauty for Ashes exists to share God’s restoration, hope, and healing with suffering and victimized women through ministry and training. Through Beauty for Ashes Retreats, women support and encourage each other by sharing their own stories and experiencing the healing, redeeming power of Jesus.
Ministry:
Adventures partners with a Cuban ministry organization that sends trained missionaries and pastors to plant churches throughout Cuba—and the rest of the world. You will serve in Sancti Spiriti, a town in the interior of the island. Your ministry will be to women wherever you meet them, which could be in:
Home Visits: Visiting and encouraging local women through prayer, listening to their stories, and getting to know their families.
Bible Studies: Sharing and/or teaching women in Bible studies or church services.
Church Ministry: You will worship with local believers and visit different church plants. You’ll be able to meet local women, encourage, and pour into them wherever you go.
Prayer Ministry: Interceding for the women of Cuba
Your team will:
Will you encourage and share God’s love with women in Cuba?
