Known as one of the biggest melting pots in the world, South Asia is home to varieties of distinct ethnicities and cultures that cannot be found anyplace else. Filled with vivid art, literature, and movies, South Asian charm is known all over the world. This exotic peninsula appears to be a thriving multi-cultural paradise.
However, this front of prosperity comes a huge price of human capital. While castes systems were officially declared illegal in 1947, many attitudinal barriers against “untouchable” citizens still exist. These people are often not given work, forced to live in abject poverty, and treated with contempt. Many children go malnourished, and the while the life expectancy of adults is on the rise, the opposite is true of children.
Come partner with the church to take a stand to show that all lives matter to God. You could work with a children’s ministry to teach kids the essentials of education. While public schools are available, many of them are overcrowded. Partnering with the church, you could go to neighboring villages and teach English. Form relationships with children as you demonstrate the love of God while simultaneously giving them a skill that they can use the rest of their lives.
While in the villages, you may feed and work with the poor. Working with the church, you may be able to form a relationship with people who have been forgotten. By giving the meal in Christ’s name, you will be able to fill their souls by demonstrating their worth.
Come partner with a church in South Asia and show people God’s love in a way they’ve never seen before?
