What Is Needed:
Officially nicknamed the “City of Fountains,” Kansas City claims to have the second most in the world, just behind Rome. A closer look at this metropolitan community, however, reveals a significant number of inner-city residents living below poverty level. Crime is on the rise statewide, with the fourth worst violent crime rate among cities with more than 100,000 people. Many of the city’s murders and violent crimes occur in the city’s inner core. Gang activity is a major reason why the violent crime rate has 
consistently driven the city and metropolitan area away from livability. As long as poverty levels continue to linger where they are currently, crime in the urban core of the city will remain at the same level intensity. By partnering with local ministries and churches in Kansas City you will have an opportunity to meet the physical and spiritual needs of inner city residents such as drug addicts, prostitutes, the homeless, low-income families, and youth.
What You Will Do: 
Your activities will primarily focus on building Christ-centered relationships, in an effort to bring life transformation to those you come in contact with. Your team will have the opportunity to share the Gospel through children’s ministry community outreaches, and ministering to the homeless. Other ministry opportunities include prayer walks, door-to-door evangelism, construction, and sports outreach.
How You Can Pray: 
– Pray that God will bring peace and unity to the hearts of the Kansas City locals.
– Pray that God will provide the Kansas City community with a sense of hope, despite their circumstances or the poverty that surrounds them.
– Pray that God will open up opportunities to share his truth with the lost in Kansas City, as well as soften their hearts so that his word is well received.
About This Location:
Kansas City lies along both banks of the Kansas River in rolling, hilly country on the border between Kansas and Missouri. This midwestern industrial city is also an agricultural center of the plains region of the United States.
Food & Lodging:
Meals will be prepared on site. Lodging is comfortable, and will be provided at a local bible college. Beds and showers will be available. Bedding and towels are recommended.
