Adventures in Missions has taken more than 115,000 people on mission trips around the world. Through various short and long-term programs, Adventures helps people from all walks of life discover the world, who Jesus is, and what He has called them to: making disciples of all nations (Matthew 28) and being His witnesses to the ends of the earth (Acts 1).

Costa Rica is an adventurer’s paradise, known for its stunning beaches and beautiful rainforests. Outside of the tourist destinations, however, are large pockets of poverty and family brokenness throughout the nation. The people of Costa Rica need to remember the unchanging love of Jesus—and that it is still real and relevant to their lives. Costa Rica is home to one of our international Adventures bases, and you will have the opportunity to work alongside local believers who are bringing the Word of God to their community.
October 12-19, 2019 [Medical, Dental, Vision]
November 9-16, 2019 [Medical]
February 8-15, 2020 [Medical, Dental]
Each trip will provide participants the chance to meet the medical needs of hundreds of Costa Rican people that otherwise couldn’t afford it. Based on the participant’s skill set they could be helping with registration, ministering to families, triage, tending to patients, dispensing medication, praying for those around, ect.
Medical experience is helpful but not required, we are looking for people with more so a heart to serve and love on people.
On Medical Trips you will treat infections, skin conditions, common stomach issues, general pain, hypertension, diabetes, and respiratory conditions every day in clinic. On Dental Trips you will care for patients in need of extractions and treating abscesses.
The team will also provide general health education for every patient during community education classes and specific education at the provider stations to help patients prevent future illness.
Lodging
Your team will be housed at our base in San Jose. It is dorm-style living with beds for each participant. Bathrooms, showers, wifi, and a kitchen are all on site.
God is calling you to journey with Him, to share His love with the nations and establish His Kingdom on earth. Will you join Him in Costa Rica?
The Roman Catholic Church is deeply impacted by charismatic renewal. Many have come to a living, personal faith in Christ, which has strengthened the Catholic Church (higher mass attendance, more indigenous seminarians and priests). Although 73% of the nation is Catholic, this percent declines every year, and most Catholics are quite nominal in their faith. From the charismatic renewal, many left the Catholic Church for evangelical churches; however, large and increasing numbers of “post-evangelicals” have returned to the familiarity and structure of Catholicism. Pray for both charismatics who stayed in the Catholic Church and those who have returned – may their faith bring further renewal to the mainstream of Catholicism.
