Ministry Overview
Your team will partner with Jesus Project in New Orleans. Over the past 15 years, this ministry has worked hard to support the families and children affected by Hurricane Katrina in an area called Holly Grove. To this day, they continue to invest in this neighborhood.
Your team will support Jesus Project in a number of their ministry efforts. At their Apple Street Learning Center, they have dedicated tutors and mentors, over 1,500 hours of one-on-one tutoring annually, access to technology, and consistent individual care. In addition, The Food 4 Kids program provides healthy after school and summer camp snacks, takeaway lunch bags, and weekend family boxes.
During your time in New Orleans, you will also get to serve with our ministry partner Bethel Colony South, Men’s (and Women’s) Transformation Center. Here you’ll help in their thrift store, participate in Bible Studies, paint and help with light construction, and possibly work with women and their small kids.
Housing
You will stay at a ministry called Jesus Miracle Power run by Mama Jan Stratton. You will eat and meet at her Apple Street HQ and stay at two of her houses just a mile or so away. There will be bunk beds, provided linens, A/C, and hot showers.
