New York City is home to approximately 8.4 million people 19 percent of which fall under the poverty line. Though most people know about the city and what it has to offer, few understand the actual lifestyle of living in this city.

Ministry
Your team will be partnering with a mission to reach the lost in our ever changing neighborhood and to facilitate reaching the lost throughout the NYC area, as well, as the world. You will do this by presently reaching out to our community through joining in the worship and prayer services, as well as outreach activities.
These outreach activities include free breakfasts, cookouts, ESL, outdoor park and street meetings. The facility has a sanctuary that is a multi purpose gym and chapel. There is an opportunity to serve alongside and minister to about 30 kids on Saturdays through an indoor sports program. There are also about 50 children in an after school program; and 50 children and teens from the neighborhood who attend our Friday night youth programs.
Many teams from the USA, Canada, South America and parts of Europe have served alongside this ministry, volunteering and being activated in short term missions. From this launching pad the ministry has been able to give the volunteers, vision for urban missions and strategies. This trip has a hope that many will develop an interest in becoming partners and ministers in this type of work.
Lodging
Participants will be housed at a local church where they will have access to bathrooms, showers, and a full kitchen. Bunk beds will be provided, but bedding is not.
There is no hotel option for NY.
Travel
Most teams will fly into JFK airport. They will then jump on the metro to the stop in Brooklyn.
Some will choose to drive and drop their car off in a specific location and then take the metro into Brooklyn.
