PP Fall 2014 South Asia

God gave Sarah Rebbavarapu a vision. He filled her heart with compassion and love for the voiceless children of South Asia — orphans with special needs.

God created Sarah to care for these children. He ignited in her heart the passion to build a home for them, and he equipped her to provide them with medical care, education, physiotherapy, good nutrition, supplements, and most importantly love.

Sarah’s Covenant Homes is home to 119 orphans with special needs. Around the world, and especially in South Asia, people with disabilities are seen as less valuable. It is the desire of Sarah’s Covenant Homes to live out Matthew 19:30 and serve “the least of these.”

Sarah’s Covenant Homes’ vision is to provide children with disabilities the next best thing to a traditional family.

And you can help.

This fall, your Passport team in southern South Asia will partner with Sarah’s Covenant Homes Ministry.

Your life at SCH will be filled with variety. First, you’ll love the children, playing with them, and giving them one-on-one attention — ministering directly to their hearts.

You might also help SCH complete children’s adoption files, update the childrens’ sponsors with photos and videos of the kids, work on construction projects, and clean and organize things around the orphanage. You could also work with local congregations, sharing meals with local pastors and helping near-by ministries, or even to speak in church.

You’ll spend a lot of time getting low – in the dirt, playing with children, washing the feet of downtrodden women, or simply listening to one person share their life story with you.

This is your opportunity to expand your understanding of God’s love. To grow beyond your current knowledge and discover for yourself God’s heart for this corner of South Asia.

Are you ready for the challenge?
