PP Fall 2016: Nicaragua

Nicaragua has been called the land of lakes and volcanoes. Thick rainforests, rugged highlands, long beaches, and fertile hills define the country’s beautiful landscape. Its rich history dates back to the Spanish conquistadores

As the poorest nation in Central America, almost 80% of Nicaraguans live on less than $2 a day. More than half the population lives beneath the poverty line. One in four Nicaraguans is starving or suffering from malnutrition.

Nicaragua needs your encouragement.

Ministry:

While in Nicaragua, you will work at an orphanage seeking to provide:

  • a home of Christian love and support
  • proper clothing, food, education and living care (including medical and dental care)
  • a safe environment (physically, emotionally, spiritually)
  • an education and vocational path to allow them to learn valuable trades (and attend a Nicaraguan university if they have the ability and aspirations)
  • an exit strategy which allows them to become independent and contributing members of Nicaraguan society

You can expect to play with the kids, do VBS with them, teach English and the Bible, and help with chores around the property, all while making relationships you (and they) will never forget. You can show these children that they are precious to and loved by God.

Will you bring God’s love to children and the poor in Nicaragua?
