Panama:
Home to the Panama Canal and the largest rainforest outside of the Amazon, the country of Panama connects Central and South America.
And thanks to the Canal, which connects the Pacific Ocean to the Atlantic, Panama is one of the leading economies in Central America.
This team will serve about 7 hours away from the canal in a rural, mountainous town at the base of a volcano, right outside the tourist destination of Boquete.
Your ministry will focus on the indigenous people group of the Ngobe, who are amongst the most impoverished indigenous groups in the world.
The people of Panama need to experience a relationship with Jesus Christ. Will you live your faith in Panama?
Costa Rica:
Behind the “Rich Coast” and thick rainforests in this beautiful country lies the challenge of a nation in transition.
Costa Rica is an adventure-seeker’s paradise. Its diverse plant and animal life, stunning beaches, and rainforest zip line tours attract thousands of tourists each year.
Outside of the tourist destinations, however, are large pockets of poverty and family brokenness throughout the nation. The country itself is transitioning from self-sufficient farming lifestyles to more urban living. Traditional morals and lifestyles are giving way to a modern, consumer-oriented world.
The people of Costa Rica need to remember the unchanging love of Jesus—and that it is still real and relevant to their lives.
Ministry:
In Panama, your ministry will be tailored according to the gifts of your team. This might include sports ministry, village and indigenous tribal outreach, a children’s camp, community outreach, work projects, Bible distribution, or elderly ministry. You will partner with a local organization seeking to create an orphanage, self sustainable farm, and a college to help local indigenous tribes, all while showing the impact of a life transformed by Christ.
In Costa Rica, you will work with Ocean’s Edge in the beach town of Jaco, a training and equipping ministry that trains and equips locals to work in business, art, marketing, etc., while being taught to live a missional lifestyle. There is a huge array of possibilities for ministries, including a youth house on the beach, pre-natal center, a “kids Club”, and service projects throughout town. We recently sent another ministry team here; check out this video to see a glimpse of their trip and give you an idea of what your time will look like!
Will you share God’s love in Central America?
