Costa Rica is located in Central America and is known for it’s beautiful beaches, rainforests, and volcanoes. The people of Costa Rica are incredibly warm and hospitable. They take great pride in the natural beauty of their country.
Jacó, Costa Rica is a popular destination for travelers for its beaches and great surf. Inside this small beach community, a network of ministries are working to transform lives through the love of Christ and the gifts and resources God has provided.
Ministry: Ocean’s Edge connects missions teams to several different ministries in the beach community of Jacó. Depending on the current needs of the community, teams may:
Work with Ocean’s Edge and their vision to train and equip ministry leaders in living and working while simultaneously living missionally. This includes training locals and creating opportunities for them to work in business, art, marketing, etc.
Disciple youth through surfing and other sports at a youth center.
Work at a pregnancy resource center/pre-natal center which helps educate women about birth and caring for their children.
Help with children’s ministry at Kid’s club, a program in poor areas surrounding Jacó.
Work in a local church by possibly sharing a testimony or performing a skit.
Host an outreach event or service project to bless the local community.
Help with construction projects for the Ocean’s Edge ministry house which will broaden the reach of the ministry.
Adventure Day: Ministry will take place within walking distance of one of the most popular beaches in Costa Rica. Your free day will most likely include soaking up the sun, maybe taking surf lessons while enjoying the Pura Vida.
Lodging: You will be staying at the Ocean Edge ministry house which has A/C (for use at night only), bunk beds, sheets, pillows, showers, bathrooms, and a kitchen.
