Nepal is home to the world’s tallest mountain: Everest. It looms 28,000 feet over the fertile plains and dusty city streets peppered with colorful prayer flags draped from every rooftop. With Buddhism and Hinduism the country’s main religions, streets are split for golden statues of lesser gods, and the smell of incense lingers in the air.
Even so, Christianity is on the rise – especially after the earth shook on April 15, 2015. With no where else to turn, homes in shambles, and loved ones injured or gone, the hope of Christ is beginning to take root. Churches are growing, and entire families are turning to him.
Ministry:
You will partner alongside established ministries in Kathmandu that are pouring into the Nepali people. Street ministry, disaster relief, friendship evangelism, construction, English lessons, and anti-trafficking efforts are just the beginning. There’s a chance you’ll travel out of the city, into the valley to support the efforts of sustainable communities being built as a response to the recent earthquakes that decimated the border regions.
The Gospel is gaining ground in this great mountain nation.
Will you be part of expanding its reach?
