But the truth is, it wasn’t just their journey. It was yours too.
From fundraising, purchasing supplies, packing, emotional and spiritual preparation, driving to the airport, and/or coming to Launch, you were there every step of the way. Once they were on the field, you supported from home—investing, encouraging, and growing with them.
Watching them come fully alive while serving God on the mission field, gave you much deserved parental pride! It inspired you to live differently, to invest in ministry differently. . . and possibly, to dream of serving overseas in a similar way.
It’s time to continue your journey.
On this trip, you will travel and serve alongside other parents who saw their sons and daughters go through the same transformation as yours. You will share your stories, grow together, and serve God by partnering with our base in Manila.
Adventures in Missions Philippines works alongside Wipe Every Tear to help rescue and restore women formerly trafficked in the sex trade industry.
Millions of women worldwide are trafficked every year into the sex trade. Adventures in Missions and Wipe Every Tear (WET) are committed to the lives of these women. From safe places to call home, education, and deep relationships with others, women are given the opportunity to have their lives completely restored. This holistic approach allows women the opportunity to move from dark captivity to safe places where they may be restored and loved.
Your team will enter the Red Light District, partnering directly with women who have left the bars and feel compelled to go back in hopes of rescuing more women. You will spend time pouring into women who have come out of the bars, by leading devotionals, planning a fun excursion, and being a support and encouragement for them. You will take part in prayer walks, worship, intercession, and fulfill other needs of the ministry.
Most of all, you’ll be a light for Christ in a dark city.
Meet Our Long Term Missionaries – Emily Adkisson
Emily started serving in the Philippines in 2013. She’s passionate about breaking the chains of sex trafficking in Manila where 15,000 women and children are victims of trafficking. She’s determined to change the world, one girl at a time.
