STM 2017 Ecuador

An adventure awaits you in Ecuador!

From tropical coastlines to high, snowy mountains, Ecuador appears to have it all. The capital, Quito, is the highest capital city in the world, at over 9,300 feet above sea level.

Its views are breathtaking, and its struggle to break out of the cycle of poverty is very, very real.

Although prosperous on the whole, certain regions of Ecuador continue to struggle. The upper class is the most unreached group in Quito. Yet for those in the lower class, the poverty cycle is generational. In impoverished areas, it isn’t uncommon to see families with 12-15 members sharing a two bedroom home, skipping meals when there isn’t money to buy food.

The people of Ecuador need hope.

Ministry:

While in Ecuador, you will partner with a ministry with over 40 church plants in Quito. Ministry opportunities could look like:

  • Kids Ministry: You’ll have an opportunity for VBS and sports with local kids, which will allow you to share the love of Christ through their favorite language: fun.
  • Work Projects: You could minister at a home for pregnant teens or a number of other organizations through light manual labor projects.
  • Community Outreach: Share the Gospel as you live your faith in every moment – walking to ministry, while eating breakfast, or visiting the Equator on your off day.

Will you join the churches in Ecuador in reaching their communities with the hope and love of Jesus?
