Gainesville is a city located about an hour north of Atlanta with a population of 30,000 on the banks Lake Lanier. Called the “Poultry Capital of the World”, the high-profile presence of the poultry industry in Gainesville has been the primary factor in driving the city’s startling growth.
Over the past decade, the official population of the city has nearly doubled, with more than half of it made up of immigrant Hispanic workers.
Join Adventures in Missions in our own backyard, home to over 100 staff where we host missions and discipleship training year around. Our team is passionate about seeing our hometown come to know the name of Jesus as we minister to the community around us.
Ministry:
Your team will partner with a local church dedicated to reaching out to the city of Gainesville. On your trip, you will have the opportunity to build relationships with local residents, especially in large Hispanic community.
- Kids Ministry: Share the love of Jesus with children left at home while their parents work in the factories. You could play sports, do VBS, and remind them there is a Father who loves them.
- Community Outreach: You will reach out to the homeless and other local communities with the real and relevant message of what it means to have hope in Christ.
