The smallest country in Central America, El Salvador is the most densely populated nation in the region.
Because of its geographic location, El Salvador has a long history of earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and hurricanes. These severe weather conditions have deeply impacted the economy.
At least 20% of El Salvadorans live in other countries. The remaining are at risk for gang influence and violence due to poverty, family disintegration, and lack of education.
The people of El Salvador are hungry for hope.
Ministry:
You will partner with a local ministry in:
- Sports Ministry: You’ll teach PE in several schools, sharing God’s love with kids in their favorite language: fun.
- Feeding the Hungry: You’ll be able to distribute food to hungry and low-income families.
- Community Outreach: You’ll go on home visits in your local community, meeting locals, hearing their stories, praying for them, and sharing the Gospel with everyone you meet.
- Teaching English: You’ll teach English and make relationships with your students, sharing God’s love with all you do and say.
- Church Ministry: You’ll be able to encourage a local church and also be part of discipleship classes.
El Salvador literally means “the Savior”, and its people are looking for just that.
