Even before the 2010 earthquake, Haiti was the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Today, rubble still lies in the streets and many families live in tents. In 2016, Hurricane Matthew roared through the island with 145mph winds, leaving destruction in its wake. Corruption, crime, and the black market prevent them from rebuilding the country on their own. False gods and voodoo lure people deeper into darkness.
But the Church is rising up.
Haiti is experiencing a spiritual revival right now like it has never seen before. The Church is becoming the driving force behind Haiti’s ongoing rebirth.
Ministry
Calbos, Haiti. You’ll serve alongside Love Him, Love Them ministries, who dedicate themselves to helping widows and orphans in distress by meeting their spiritual, economic and physical needs through Salvation, Housing, Occupations, Education and Sustenance.
- Kids Ministry: There are kids everywhere and the opportunities for ministry are endless! From street ministry to VBS and sports ministry, much of your time will be spent with children. From organized VBS programs to kicking a soccer ball, every child you see will be an opportunity to change a life.
- Orphan Care: Your team could serve with an orphanage, where you will also play with the kids, but in addition, you’ll have an opportunity for service projects.
- Community Outreach: Your team might also go door-to-door to meet and share Christ with the sick and the unchurched.
- Church Ministry: You might also get to host a church service for the community.
Lodging
You’ll get to sleep in twin beds (sheets provided) in a facility with 5 restrooms total and on-site showers! You’ll have electricity and wifi on-site, but no AC… might get a little warm!

Pray for Haiti
Haiti needs godly leaders who will prioritize the good of the nation and address its massive problems. Two centuries of misrule, tyranny and recent flawed democratic attempts have brought hopelessness and despair. Corruption is rampant, and robberies and kidnappings commonplace. The economic plight of most Haitians deepens each year, exacerbated by the events of 2010. Many seek to escape, some physically by fleeing the country in unsafe and leaky boats, others emotionally through taking drugs. Pray that men and women may be raised up who will reverse these trends and establish justice, righteousness, and long-term stability.
