Considered one of the top ten family-friendly beaches in the world, Hilton Head Island, South Carolina hosts more than two million tourists a year. The island features 12 miles of beachfront on the Atlantic Ocean. This island is a beautiful place, rich with history. But beyond the fairways and tennis courts of Hilton Head Island, poverty paralyzes many of the local people. You will find dilapidated trailer homes of families struggling to make ends meet. The island’s poorest residents, who most often are elderly, need help cleaning up their homes. You can impact both rich and poor in Hilton Head with the love of Jesus.

Ministry

• Nursing Home Visits: There is a fairly large elderly community in Hilton Head, and spending time in nursing homes is one of our favorite ministries. People who live in nursing homes often feel lonely, because their family lives too far away or rarely visit. You will have one-on-one time with the residents, listening to their stories and encouraging them in their daily lives. 
• Service Projects: Participants will have the chance to help at one of the local non-profits with various service/construction projects. It will range from painting, sweeping, and raking yards to patching holes in a roof, doing repairs and installations. 
• Beach Ministry: Because of the location, a big focus is ministry on the beach, reaching out to the locals and visitors. By handing out water bottles and inviting others to play a game of beach volleyball or soccer, you will have a chance to reach out to the kids, teens, and adults.
• Children’s Center: One of the local ministries is working with a children’s center, where you will have a chance to organize activities and work alongside the other teachers. Some of the activities include reaching out to the kids through games and sports.

 God is calling you to journey with Him, to share His love with the nations and establish His Kingdom on earth. Will you join Him in Hilton Head?

Pray for Hilton Head

Many opportunities remain for missionary recruits in supportive ministries, church planting, and pioneer work. Pray for good church-mission relationships. Pray for the release of God’s power and purpose as we go into Hilton Head to feed the hungry, clothe the naked, and heal the sick.
