STM 2018 Nicaragua

You want to live a life that matters. You want to feel significant, empowered, and for your life to count for something. You read about the way the followers of Jesus lived in the first century, and you long for that kind of life — where living out your faith means hearing the voice of God and changing people’s lives.

You want to go to the next level with God. You want a changed life.

Adventures in Missions has taken more than 115,000 people on mission trips around the world. Through various short and long-term programs, Adventures In Missions helps people from all walks of life discover the world, who Jesus is, and what Jesus has called them to: making disciples of all nations (Matthew 28) and being his witnesses to the ends of the earth (Acts 1).

Imagine experiencing firsthand how to listen to the voice of God, serve others in high-need ministry contexts, and make a real, tangible difference in the lives of others.

If you want to join a Christ-centered community committed to doing what the first generation of disciples did, then it’s time for you to join us in…

Famous for its surfing, canopy tours, and of course, the coffee, Nicaragua is a land of adventure. The poorest nation in Central America, almost 80% of Nicaraguans live on less than $2 a day. More than half the population lives beneath the poverty line. One in four Nicaraguans is starving or suffering from malnutrition.

The people of Nicaragua need the encouragement of knowing they are seen and loved by God.

Ministry

You will partner with a local ministry by serving in:

  • Kids Ministry: Your team may do VBS, sharing the love of Christ in a child’s favorite language: fun. You could spend time at a boys school, playing soccer and helping in classes, or you could spend most of your time in local barrios, playing with the children there.
  • Community Outreach/Intercession: Your team will also go on home visits and prayer walk through the community, praying for everyone you meet. There also might be an opportunity to help with a food clinic.
  • Work Projects: Your team might help with service projects at a local school, helping in the kitchen or on the property.

God is calling you to journey with Him, to share His love with the nations and establish His Kingdom on earth. Will you join Him in Nicaragua?

Pray for Nicaragua

Nicaragua’s divided past still influences the present. The traumatic events of 1979-1998 divided politics (left- and right-wing), communities (the Hispanic-Mestizo west and Creole-Amerindian east), trade unions, churches and families. The situation is changing, but there is still lingering distrust along these fault lines that needs to be overcome.
